Savhmr
I did the same thing a few years back following an MTB accident. The important thing as I'm sure you've been told, is to get straight into physio as with a shoulder dislocation it's essential to build the muscle support up around the joint which is a very complex one. Take any risks before you have that support and you'll end up, if not re-dislocating it, causing further damage. In your shoes I'd be seeking out a good private sports chiropractor and getting as much physio as possible. Keep active and follow their advice to the letter. I ended up trapping a nerve and the arm hasn't been the same since (very prone to tendonitis) so what you do now will affect you for a very long time to come. I reckon you'll be ok for September. I was back on the MTB (like an idiot) within 6 weeks. Edited June 11, 2016 by Savhmr

foosa
Done the same shoulder twice, last time dislocated the collar bone as well (oh the joys of motocross, I do miss it!) 7 weeks and I was back on the 100 birders dtl no problem. As has been mentioned, physio is key, get some strength and stability in the joint.
rodp
you have a sense of humour i will give you that, Owning landrovers gives you that hey. You have to laugh with a LR, otherwise you'd be crying most your life In all seriousness though, I think your average LR owner IS the sort that laughs off anything. Perhaps this is why the competitions were always so much fun.
Savhmr
You've got your own motor torpedo boat, wow , cool OK, sorry, I'll get my coat on the way out LoL. I was going to say that the mountain bike's probably more reliable than most landies but at least you can't fall off them!
Aled
I dislocated mine twice, I actually went shooting more often as during the winter months, I wasn't playing rugby on Saturdays! However I did have mine surgically stabilised, after my second dislocation, and I played 8 seasons of rugby afterwards with no major problems. Your shooting season should not be affected. Cheers Aled
welshwarrior
Dislocated my shoulder a few times playing rugby. Give it time do the physio and all will be well, if you rush to fast you'll have issues later on. As to shooting in September you should be recovered by then, personnal is avoid heavy loads and its early season so 26g etc will work fine.
