Hi Bry

Good to hear from you :). All good with you and yours i hope.

Still in BTBC (Chairman  ) and doing lots with the shotgun (3/4 times a week). Rifle is another strand i guess.

Its all about being out there and having fun. I am lucky to have found someone that can teach me all the stuff i need :lol::lol:

Just back from a night with a difference. New farm for rifle and there are foxes all over the place :) We are there to look at a barn with a few bales and an adjacent piggery, where the foxes are predating piglets. Goodness me the smell and the flying bugs had to be breathed to be believed. Spotted a fox from the bales as soon as we arrived, but just as quickly it was back in the den. Round the back of the barn and there was another, a quick pass of the BB gun to bumpy`, doing a ballerina impression balanced on an old iron beam saw the fox hightailing to safety. There are bits of dead things every where and the bails are clearly heavily used by fox.

We waited and called. We waited and called.

The smell was breath taking and i began to wonder if it would cure my hay fever.

Suddenly 'did you see that '?? I cant see anything and its still daylight. It could be down to the fact that at this point I had at least 2 flying bugs swimming in my eye sockets. I pass the BB gun and then see a fox in the adjacent wheat moments before it succumbs to 100+ bb's. :good:

Off to the rest of the farm and there are several foxes spotted at close quarters but before we can point a bang stick in there direction they are off into the maize.

Back to the barn before close of play to call one last time. Again in the wheat another fox. In seconds it meets its maker under a hail of bb's. Screenshot_20170708-0957521_zpsn85gfjzy.

Well done guys ....another 900 acres looks really promising. I have also been asked to do the fox control on another shoot with around 1000 acres ......cant wait for fields to come down ....going to be busy.

well done mate. getting the rewards for putting the effort in

Another two last night a half grown male cub at 11.15 and a dog at 1.50. Looks like this year is going to be a record if this keeps up. Iam 6 up on this time last year. Just when I think I can have a few nights off another one turns up. Still I shouldn't complain its all money in the bank.

Was out tonight had the Mrs with me, spied a big fox around 130 yards but was on the skyline. Whistled, squeaked, you name it I tried it. Could I get him to move 3 foot down the bank for a safe shot? Nope. Pain in the **** once again, I got out smarted by a fox  hope everyone else is having better luck!

Thats two great things i have read on here in last week. !st that Bornfree is getting paid and second that you get the wife to go out shooting. All i could do to get my wife to catch a chicken for dispatch.

I am having rubbish luck. 30 or so hours after one fox so far and only a quick sighting and no shot about 3 weeks ago. We put the hounds through the ground yesterday and still nothing....trap and snares tomorrow and a few more outings to come.

Ah.... Now that my friend would cause yoi all sorts of issues... Not just foxing.

 I am actually very boring in real life and not much use at shooting foxes at the moment either. His day will come one way or another...hopefully not to many more chickens will perish in the mean time.
