Hendrix's rifle
Hello all, yesterday I braved torrential rain to go and pick up a cz 452 2e in 22wmr. Managed to get 2 boxs of ammo with it as well anyway, got it home and gave it a thorough checking over, cleaned the bolt and breech then decided to go out with it yesterday evening. It came with a rhino 6-24x50 ao ir scope that actually shocked me at how clear it was! Set up a target at 55 yards to see where it was shooting and it was miles out, managed to get it close then moved to 70 yards. 20 rounds later I had it bang on. The groups I've had off this put my hmr to shame, 5 shots, all touching each other bar 1 flyer. Even with the flier, the group was still smaller than an inch! Well chuffed. Unfortunately I only saw 2 rabbits (means I'm doing a good job but not good for shooting rabbits) Using Remington 40g magnum rimfires as that's all he had in without spending £21 a box on s+b. Am out later on aswell 👍 This one is without the flyer http://s1268.photobucket.com/user/bwbiker95/media/Mobile%20Uploads/WP_20160626_001_zpsvqefisi2.jpg.html?filters[user]=144943119&filters[recent]=1&sort=1&o=0 Group with a filter next to it to see how small it is! http://s1268.photobucket.com/user/bwbiker95/media/Mobile%20Uploads/WP_20160625_23_19_12_Pro_zpsgwdqp3ca.jpg.html?filters[user]=144943119&filters[recent]=1&sort=1&o=0 Thanks for reading 👍

I've got a sako quad with a slot for a wmr so may get a barrel 1 day for it. Edited June 26, 2016 by Archie-fox

Hendrix's rifle
http://s1268.photobucket.com/user/bwbiker95/media/Mobile%20Uploads/WP_20160626_12_20_33_Pro_zpsna1tnyug.jpg.html?filters[user]=144943119&filters[recent]=1&sort=1&o=0 Top one is the wmr, bottom is the hmr. Il get some better photos shortly! Just one thing I did notice, the wmr seems to group better up to 80-90 yards or so however after that the hmr definatly takes over! Walker570
The 22 WMR is a great little cartridge and of course you have the CZ barrel accuracy. I had a 17HMR for a few years and it put every shot through the same hole. Even the young lad who purchased it from me could not believe the accuracy... that was a CZ. I have a 22RF simply for those occasions when I need to be VERY stealthy, no noise apart from the PLOP!! as the bullet arrives. The reason I sold the HMR (and yes, I do sometimes regret it) is that I have a 17 Remington as well and the Stainless SSK barrel I have fitted to the Encore is deadly accurate way out to 200 plus yards but is just as capable at 30yrds when required. At the moment I am shooting some 18gr HPs which leave very little to pick up when you hit a crow or magpie. These were some experimental bullets I was given whilst out in Texas and will be sorry when they run out. In my view, the 17HMR was marginal on foxes passed 60yrds and if I'm going to shoot 'em I like to put them down. The 22WMR will do that in spades way outside that. Enjoy your 22WMR it is a brilliant all round vermin slayer and very close to the Hornet in ability.

Only sold the last one when the free range egg production stopped and so did the need for a shorter range reduced power bullet. However,I think the "very" is misleading to say the least even for factory loaded Hornet rounds. When you step up to reloading, the Hornet can easily and sensibly develop well, well in excess of twice the magic little WMR output.
