12g cartridge prices

Recommended Posts

Kents can be found for £130 in Hampshire but that was a couple of weeks back. I think £150 is their normal price.

I was offered some Gamebore EVO, by my local gunshop, at reduced prices because the manufacturer has changed the box colour but the cartridges did not change. 1000 Evo Fibre 8 + 1000 Evo 7.5 Fibre both £180 which I bought both. I don't normally use 7.5's now but at that price they were worth taking.

Just Cartridges are no longer a cheap option for me when considering carriage at £15. Both would have been £208 from them. I also had a few too many miscarriages in the last batch and there is little you can do about it. At least a local shop I can walk them back.

Prices seem to vary massively. In hull the cheapest hull compX i could find were £180 per thousand. If i drive 250 miles to my parents place i can get them for £150 a thousand.

Im moving to northern ireland shortly and have been advised to stock up ahead of moving, apparently the restriction on quantities really pushes up the prices. Here you can get a good price buying 5000 a time. A chat with the firearms licencing chaps in NI suggested the only way to get a good rate was to buy 10,000 a time (but still more pricey than the mainland due to the storage issues).

Can you buy south of the border?

The club I shoot in buys some ammo up north. There is a bit more paperwork (import licence) but the prices are good.

Not sure if / how it works the other way or if you are buying in enough quantity to make it worthwhile.
