Norfolk License

Recommended Posts

As we all know the license's issued by different police authoritys vary a great deal..Well I can now talk with experience of Norfolk Police..

My license was due in September of this year, about the 16th..

Yesterday had a visit from a feo who dealt with it in 1/2 hour.

Everthing was correct on his documentation,I thought I had tasked them hard with changes on my certificate,(Quite a Few)..

It was bob on,they are really on the ball..

As I saw him off, He said I will see you in 5 years,Said I should recieve it in about 2 weeks..

Well done Norfolk,Big pat on the back..

Beat that.???.

I agree with all of the above , the officer who used to do the Yarmouth area ( who have now retired ) was a smashing bloke , friendly and very efficient , the new one who do the Norwich area sound just the same as I have never met him and all the requirements were done over the phone and my certificate came two weeks before my old one ran out 10 / 10.

Well Renewal dropped on the mat this morning.

3 Weeks before my old one runs out.

What an Excellent Service from Norfolk police,Will be writing a big pat on the back for the

Office being so effiecient in doing the paper work..

I really feel sorry for guys in other districts who are held up with no thought for getting the job done in a proper manner,, And on time..

I have the same story as everyone else on here good fast service. Sent my renewal off in mid July the firearms officer phoned me up to see if there were any changes which there were not. So he said no need for a visit and last week a renewal arrived, a month before it was due. One fly in the ointment though after receving the new licence a bill from the doctors arrived for £25.00..

Why the bill from doc

The police asked for a report , best of it is I already had the new SGC before they asked for a doctors report. True i had a stroke some few years ago , but that is well behind me now and a slight heart problem , but though friends may disagree after a few nights on the marsh never had any mental problems, depression or anything similar. Indeed when a friend suffered with depression I could not grasp what it was as its so alien to me.

Are they charging you for adding the 'firearms' marker on their records? I would have thought a medical report would have been much more.

If it is for adding the marker, BASC say don't pay as that was not the agreement with the BMA.

I think all the pressure for a Drs report comes from the police.

mine was £62 just for the marker. I rang the firearms department to ask if they had asked for a medical report. and they had not.

Worrying - was this just to note you were a SG/rifle licence holder?

Yes it was,but don't worry to much as although I live in Norfolk the rip off doctor's surgery is in Suffolk. I've never trusted those Suffolk type's They live too close to London for my liking. A proper Norfolk doctor would do it for free.
