good old RSPCA

They went further down in my estimation when they pursued a police officer for 2 years through to the high court when he used a spade to put a cat out of its misery following a collision with a car. This officer sought advice from his supervision, and tried to get in contact with them, but they were unavailable.

A vet who gave evidence at tried said that it's back end was "flattened" and he did the kindest thing.

Had he left it, he could have been guilty of neglect!!

I don't know how to post a link, but Google "rspca cat police officer" and see for yourself.

Beware if you ever decide to exercise your judgement to prevent suffering. Hope you like porridge!

Much as I hate the RSPCA in this case he was probably right, a 19 year old cats going to look pretty manky so probably best off being put down. I seriously doubt he put it down though much more likely to have been a local vet.

When my mum was a child their cat came home with only 3 legs, it had been caught in a trap or something. Anyway my grandad took it behind the shed and gave it back end of the shovel.

It was what happened back then, vets were for working animals or livestock. It is only society that has softened.

I like cats, own a cat but wouldn't hesitate to finish him off if he was suffering or beyond the help of a vet.

It is no different to finishing off a pricked pigeon or a badly shot rabbit is it?

This sort of thing was happening 40 years ago with the same corrupt organisation. :good: My Dad's family cat went missing and after 5 days they found it emaciated in a gin trap. After smashing the trap as it was chained to the ground they took the cat home. They were going to put it down but it started purring as they brought it inside so they took it to the vets to see what he thought. The vet had to amputate the leg but the cat survived. Meanwhile the RSPCA couldn't care less and simply said you are lying. People set gins but check them everyday and don't leave animals in them for 5 days so we don't want to know. :lol:

We have a cat and while I am not a cat person it makes me feel quite sick that the mindless inspector still has his job. :lol: I haven't met many stray cats (have tamed several into lap cats though for various relatives) that are old with few teeth as they would have rolled over and died long before getting to that age. :lol:

:lol: B) :/:lol::yes:
