bunny_blaster
Saturday saw me heading to a field of barley stubble that had a lot of birds on it Friday evening. This field is quite difficult to shoot due surrounding houses and roads. I set up in the only safe place to shoot against a bale about 50 yards from the edge of the field. This ment I had the wind and sun in my face and I had to be very care where I took my shots. The birds came in nicely all afternoon and I soon started to make a bag up. At one point I had two police officers come across the field due to a complaint about the noise, it turned out to be the local wildlife crime officer and after a chat and him taking my details I'd lost 45 mins with the birds trying to decoy whilst we stood outside the hide. Once they'd left I carried on shooting until 7. If I could of shot all the birds that came past the hide I'd of easily passed the 300 bird mark but ended the day with 219. In the morning I went and picked up a Yildiz O/U .410 which a member off here offered me after my recent post in guns and equipment, this accounted for a few birds during the day as well. Today I headed out much later than I wanted to after sorting a few things out in the morning. I checked all my stubble fields and found nothing apart from one field which had a good number of birds down and a decent line in. I rang the farmer only to be told not to shoot due to complaints when it's been shot on a Sunday before. I carried on looking and found nothing worth setting up for so headed home a little disappointed. Hopefully next weekend will bring a better result. Cheers Ben The new .
JDog
Are you PC in disguise? Your title, style of writing and bags are very similar. I think we should be told.

pigeon controller
Well done Ben, you did well for a difficult situation , I'm not sure about the .410 as it will limit your field of fire due to range etc. If your decoying is spot on you will bring them within range. I would ignore JDogs probing comment as he is only trying to determine if we are one and the same??? That being so I have processed 600+ birds this weekend and he is envious of us until they start cutting in his locality.
