JRDS
Will be used for off roading but nothing too harsh just Pigeon Shooting and work round the shoot. I have a short list of 3 all 2016 Models and would be in Auto, I want nearly new and can't afford Discos and the like. Just wondering what the forums thoughts were as to which would be most suitable as a Shooting vehicle. Kia Sportage Jeep Cherokee Nissan X Trail. Isuzu D-Max for the money you're planning on spending. Doesn't help with your shortlist though.
JRDS
All suggestions welcome, would I get a nearly new one for 20k? Paying VAT on a SH car for private use would grate me also. Edited August 13, 2016 by JRDS
wymberley
From the 3, I'll tentatively suggest the X Trail. If "work round the shoot" was to include fox control. I'd have been much more emphatic - a mobile semi high seat.

four-wheel-drive
As I see it there are two options open to you if it is just going across muddy fields then any soft roader would do the job Ie X-Trail or similar if you want something to go over more rough ground then you want something with more ground clearance that takes you into Land Rover Disco Jeep etc etc
JRDS
Will the Cherokee have more ground clearance than an XTrail? The new Jeeps look nice and the Auto is a 9 speed, 5 more than my current 53 Plate Disco.
Mr Potter
Please don't take my word for it but I think that the auto X-Trail is only available in 2wheel drive, all 4 wheel drives are manual. But as I said I could be misinformed (sounds so much better than wrong!) Mr Potter
billytheghillie
if your doing work around shoot, I would suggest a pick up, L200, Hi-Lux, etc.

norfolk dumpling
Don't discount Subaru - good off road and go on for ever. If you get the more powerful engine (240bhp) they are very quick for a 4x4.
Craig83
Best 4x4 Iv been in. Suzuki Jimny. Really light weight really good off road. Dirt cheap to run. I loved it so much I brought one. I can get anywhere with it.
