stuy
My reccy yesterday proved fruitful today , but it was one of those days when pigeon didn't play ball,I set up at 10 am alone, as this particular land owner will not allow access to anyone else on these fields,I sent mike from cardiff to another stubble last I heard at 3pm was he's on 50+.I had 2 rope bangers set up on adjacent fields of rape stubble, also flags on certain areas I thought the pigeon may favour,in all 170 acres of rape a vast area for one gun, with 2 it would've been a 200+ day I'm sure, the birds just wouldn't have it magnet in , out, pattern change I tried everything in my armoury, but the birds , and I mean loads of birds , a constant stream from town just kept coming, but wide of decoys, looked at hide etc...all ok .so I moved across the field to where they crossing hid in a bush and shot 44, to add to the 62 from hide ,got a call from wife to say I had a doctor appointment at 5,15 pm so had to pack up !!It was roasting hot and ive been eaten alive but worth it
JDog
That was good in this heat. Did the Doctor think you had some sort of rash with all of those bites? Save a few for the bean stubbles.

kenholland
a lot of people cannot be bothered to move once they have set up , just go lightweight just take bare essentials you made the move and got your result well done.
Cranfield
62 from the hide wasn't bad with that acreage around you, but you deserve the 106 for the hard preparation work.

Save a few for the bean stubbles. we've got a very healthy pigeon population at the moment its been a few years since ive seen numbers like this , spoke to a farmer friend just outside cardiff he's said he's got loads down there, beans should produce great sport if they hang around jdog
maxwell
I bet the Doctor took one look at you and diagnosed an acute case of pigeon-itice, the main symptom is hiding in hedges staring at the sky for hours and occasionally talking to yourself, usually along the lines of "why won't they decoy" I'm afraid it's incurable . Cracking bag by the way and a good judgment call to move.
pigeon controller
Great bag for the conditions and time constraints, Intel worked well, result.
marsh man
Nice to know you have got decent numbers in your neck of the woods and long may it continue. ShropshireSam
A good bag and well earned. I hate packing up and moving even though I often rush to set up and end up in a less than ideal spot. I have struggled this harvest and never found a field the birds are keen to return to so even when I move off a decent number few return and even fewer decoy well. But it has meant I have had some more challenging sport with 40-50 yard crossers.
