Taffthemagicdragon
Hi Guys This has been probably covered somewhere else before. I'm in South wales and have perms there. I have the chance of two other perms which come under a different police force. Will intend to be using 22 lr 17 hmr & 223 if I get them Question is who do I apply to check if land has been cleared. Is it my police force or the force from that area. I am not yet on an open ticket Appreciate any info
Zetter
I had this with Bedfordshire and Thames Valley. I am in Thames Valley and shoot in Bedfordshire I ended up asking Bedfordshire if the land was cleared directly and also they did the land clearance for me on some land that wasnt cleared. powler
I'm under west Mercia but some ground is under Gwent, so I had to ask west Mercia to ask Gwent to get the land cleared then they had to email Mercia stating that it was cleared. But it didn't take long the guys in Gwent are pretty efficient and the FEO had to go to one of the farms due to the farmer renewing his shotgun licence, so he inspected at the same time. Whitebridges
Go for an open ticket. Why not? My advice would be read the Home Office guidance very carefully and then make a written application as to why your cert should be open. You mention " Will intend to be using 22 lr 17 hmr & 223 if I get them" . If you haven't already got these this is likely to be a hang up. Taffthemagicdragon
got the rifles 22---17---223 Have asked for open ticket but have been told they will open for 22 & 17 now and then ask again for 223 at the end of the year. Think I need to bombard them with land clearance request then they might give in.

walshie
You can ask any force if the land is cleared as it's on a national database.

Even if your ticket is closed its no big deal, you ting your force, they check,if cleared they add it to your file.If not cleared they ask that area (that you intend to shoot) to clear it (risk assess). Then once its clears your good to go.If your luck it may be already cleared and if the two forces involved are good the your looking 2/3 days.An open ticket never bothered me and i never felt the need to ask for one.
