Mercedes X Class pickup

Based on the NP300 Navara underpinnings/body so only really a bit of 'Cosmetic surgery'

Still, although I haven't clicked on the link I'm assuming it's the yellowy/ green metallic mock-up with a wide mouth grill and I liked what I saw.

Miss my old King cab.....

From all the things I have read it's the chassis from the Navara and that's about it. If Merc were gonna go into this sector they really had to make an impact and create a market for themselves, they couldn't do this is a Navara with a body kit...if they have they are stupid.

Aye. It'll be like the VW Amarok, an over priced posing pouch.

Why do you think they have done it? While tax for commercials is like it is this will sell in droves an Eclass estate is couple hundred a month BIK for a company car driver and that's without fuel, this is no BIK !!!!!

Makes a lot of sense for directors and managers to have one rather than accompany car. Farmers too!

Depending on the price this would been perfect company car choice for me. For private life a pick up would been ideal but due to motorway mileage I need a proper car. If this is as comfortable on the road as the e-class, tows like a discovery and is the same company car tax as a fiat panda then it will be spot on.

Ball park price its about the same as a Navara apparantly

Low profile tyres, I don't think so off road

They do picture both wheel options

If it's a proper commercial no BIK at all............it's a van!

Dont tell anyone who works at the tax office!!

There is no limit on distance, allowed to drive a commercial on company use and to office including incidental journeys (stopping to buy a news paper on the way to office or drop children off is hmrc examples of not private use) without incurring BIK. Large company's like sky have different rules (500miles a Month allowable mileage I think) and the likes of ADT and Chubb have cars with I think no BIK (on car at least not sure on fuel) as they are "on call" and they use estate cars Edited by HDAV

I always thought the commute was considered private mileage if you are based at one place. I know you can't get away with putting it as company mileage on your company car but may be different with vans.

The larger companies do it differently as people like bt or sky engineers are not based at an office, the van is their place of work. When my wife worked for bt they were very strict about using the van for any private mileage as would mean they had to pay BIK.

That's more or less what my accountant told me today. Basically, too many people were trying it on so they have clamped down on lots of fiddles

It is for cars but not for commercials 😀

Amazon don't pay normal tax....... Large companies get lots of fiddles....

The key is NO private use therefore NO benefit and the company has to justify how this is enforced
