Gordon R
Paths of Glory, Gunfight at the OK Corral, Seven Days in May, Last Train from Gun Hill - classics. Talented actor and top human being.
Scully
I haven't read the link but from the films listed I'm assuming we're talking about Kirk Douglas. Some great movies, and up there with Paths of Glory for me is The Vikings.
Scully
While we're on the topic of true Hollywood Greats, don't overlook the stunningly good looking Olivia De Haviland, who turned 100 earlier this year. She starred alongside Errol Flynn and turned down the role of the wife of George Bailey ( played by James Stewart ) in my favourite film of all time 'It's a Wonderful Life', because they were real life former lovers. I think she won two Oscars during her career and is probably best remembered for her role in 'Gone With the Wind'.

Ben Hur, Spartacus, Ten Commandments, King of Kings, Barabbas.... great entertainment and they got the story across without sex, extreme violence or gore. In fact a different genre but I'm going to settle back later and watch Spencer Tracey in Bad Day at Black Rock Edited November 11, 2016 by Adge Cutler

Gordon R
Ben Hur is a classic - with real horses racing. Bit of stunt driving - not Charlton Heston - but the remake is awful. It is truly, utterly dreadful. Adge - Bad day at Black Rock - allegedly the first time karate was shown in an American film.
