Looking to get a .243 for Roe and fox. Fancy something a bit special so looking at Mauser M12 Max. With an atec cmm4 mod and MEOPTA MEOSTAR R1 3-12X56 RD with a 4C scope. Any views on this kit? Anyone used it?

I went for a Mauser M12 Extreme, got a Meostar R1 4B ret. Its also in .243.

I have put about 80 rounds through it since start of the year, practice on paper, and a couple of deer. I love it.

Couldn't be happier with both the Rifle and Scope. The 4B ret is a very useful range finding tool, simple and instant gauge of range.

So impressed with the optics, I bought a Meopro 4-12 x 50 for my Browning T bolt .22lr.

Looks like I am very near you, you are absolutely welcome to come over for a look; although the M12 Max is of course a different model to my Extreme.

Everyone has their own opinion.

That's not a setup I would consider but if that's what you want that's all that matters.

My Tikkas and Remington do everything I want in the field and nearly everything I want at Bisley as well!

ATB!

:good:

Agree just packing last night for a 3 day trip stalking of all the rifles I own I'm taking a Remington action 308 as it does what I want but it's not something special.
