CaptainBeaky
As per request from Guttersnipe on the Half Moon knife thread: A simple bifold, made with 1.2 mm goatskin. Pattern was a free one if the web, adapted to give extra card slots. Dyed with Feibings oil dye, finished with carnuaba wax. A little rough in places - first time using a pricking iron, plus first time working with leather this thin. I also have a trifold cut out and dyed, ready to assemble, so that will appear here when it's finished.
spandit
I like that. It's obviously handmade and that adds to it's value Edited November 20, 2016 by spandit
deny essex
Nice , it brings back memories of my old dad, he was a master cobbler like my grandfather , but when synthetic factory made shoes came in the trade died. When he was near retirement and onward every christmas he used to make leather wallets, purses and tobacco pouches to order to make a little extra cash for Christmas and I used to help him as a lad with some of the stitching. He also used to repair leather boots and shoes in his shed when we lived on Canvey Island , me helping by waxing the sole's, heel edges and final cleaning. Thanks for a great memory jog Edited November 21, 2016 by deny essex
impala59
I like that. It's obviously handmade and that adds to it's value +1, would you consider making another? I like a simple bi-fold and what you have created would suit me just fine

CaptainBeaky
You wait for ages, then two come along at once... The trifold, shown with the bifold for comparison. Not entirely finished - a couple of edges need tidying up and having the gum trag treatment, but I'm fairly happy with the way it has turned out. mel b3
thats another cracker , i know that its not everyones taste but i like raw edges , they soon take on that sort of well used look that sort of fits nicely with rustic handmade things. Guttersnipe
Thanks for posting CaptainB - a great job and fabulous to not just make the product but to have also created some of the tools required. Now you need to make a buck skin one having shot and tanned the hide....
