Fisherman Mike
Went to my rough shoot cus I bought a new 20g Lincoln Jubilee yesterday and needed to put a few cartridges through it to loosen it up a bit (Nice gun for the money) Shot two rabbits ( Which is bad because there are bloody hundreds here) 1 crow and a grey squirrel. Went out at 8 and shot till 12.30... had a single jar on the way home at the local to help relieve the cold.... Driving back home and a a flock of 200 woodies got up from a rape field which I have been shooting for the the last 4 weeks where i have really struggled to bring the birds in... I hate this bloody game sometimes!!!! :< :<
Pigeon_decoyer
Got out 19th thursday roost shooting, arrived at 9.00am sat in woods, nothing for around an hour so took a walk up the field, i saw loads of pigeons pileing in on a little hedge, there was a rape field next door to it with around 1000 pigeons on, sat in hedge shot 11 in a space of an hour. Then all the pigeons stopped coming in so went back to the woods. Sat there for the rest of the day and didn't get any. I left at around 4.00pm. Not a bad day considering it was really windy! But because i love my shooting that much im allowed a couple of days of school once a week to go shooting if im lucky! Just ordered a pigeon shoot book of the internet i have always wanted, it's called ''The Pigeon Shooter'' by John Batley. Cant wait for it to come through because i never have nothing to do and always wanted a book about decoying! I have watched his video. Its amazing but my dads mate wont let me borrow it again because he says he has lent it out to his other mate! PD

webber
Sorry chaps, was all set for an early start, gear ready the lot, got out of bed and click, back gone! I spent Sunday on the living room floor. The only half interesting thing on telly was country file. Ive had no trouble with my back for a couple of years, so it really crapped on our plans, we had been watching the pigeon build up on field of rape and was looking forward to useing my new Silver Pigeon IV for the first time on the real thing. My mate was not too chuffed, he had to go home and flag his patio; is it 5 or 7 brownie points for a patio??? PD I think that you are putting the base above the apex. You would be best advised to shoot the fields first, even if you only get under the flight line and dont actually decoy the pigeon. The idea of roost shooting is exactly that. you shoot the pigeon as they come into roost. By popping away at them all day you are quite likeley to persuade them to go and book in at an alternative hotel for the night, and possibly longer. I would only normally consider going to the roost at around 2:30pm, the activity will generally build up as the light level falls. Make shure that you have a torch and that you know your way home or to the car in the dark. webber

webber
ollie Following a decision by my mum some 40 years ago, I no longer a rugby fan, although i am obviously pleased that England beat Australia, by chance i was in an Australian bar in Manchester when it happened, an experience never to be forgotten. When I was a nipper, my uncle and grandad used to take me to watch St. Helens (real rugby). The last match that I was allowed to attend was Wigan vs Saints at St.H. The match was televised, Eddy Waring commentating. My uncle had been shot and wounded whilst serving in Aden, and on his way home had bought grandad a small transistor radio with ear piece. No grate shakes today, but then it was the dogs dandlies. Grandad was listening to the commentry and watching the match. the next thig that I knew was that grandad was off up a ladder threatening the life of Eddy Waring. He didnt make into the box, but it took 3 bobbies to get him down. I think that ti was the day that I saved grandads bacon, because the inspector told my uncle that the only reason that he wasn't going to lock him up was because of the lad. We were escorted from the ground. My interst in rugby wayned from that point on. webber
