TaxiDriver
I keep chucking them away but wonder if anyone might have an alternative use for them ? They've got a metallic bottom and sort of silvered lining with a plastic lid. If any good to anyone I'd collect a few up to make 'em worth collecting Edited December 18, 2016 by TaxiDriver

kennett
I do this, collected loads of coffee tubs and SMA milk tins. Because they look too useful to throw away...they are just in the way really!

Because they look too useful to throw away...they are just in the way really! Thanks Reading your post gave me a moment of clarity, You're absolutely right of course, (I hadn't thought of SMA tins aswell) Me being miserly I suppose, always looking for a second or alternative use for things. I'll just carry on binning 'em Anyone any ideas for a Mini Keg lol (no you can't recycle the full one for me)

amateur
I re-use mine as storage containers for when I strip down the bikes. I've still got SMA tins from when the girls were little - and the younger one is nearly 37. Still, most of my bike spares are over 45 years old. and no, I don't need any more storage tins
kennett
Now mini kegs I can help with! We used to turn them into lamps. Cut the top out, glued an mdf disk with light fitting into the hole and passed the cord out of a small hole in the base! Do you keep getting told that the contents of the tins and other stuff that you have been is a load of junk and that you have to have a clear out and this a lot of toot. The only thing is that they know where to come when something is broken and needs mending.

I am constantly being told that the garage is full of junk and needs sorting out - strangely much of it is my wife's
