12gauge82
The assorted FAs should pay the fine - to the British Legion. And then demand an independent audit into Fifa's finances. Then demand a refund from all the corrupt Fifa executives that were arrested and/or sacked. Then demand a review of the World Cup voting scandals. I'm all for playing by the rules, so let's start with a few important ones like corruption... +
Vince Green
As a separate issue I think we ought to leave FIFA anyway. FIFA is to football what Eurovision is to music Edited December 20, 2016 by Vince Green
masmiffy
FIFA will always be corrupt its a money thing lots to be made for the powers that be in many ways! Dont get the scale of the fines, or the fact they say the poppy is political, surely all nations should get same fine for the same 'offence'
getthegat
Hi, adding my two penneth here; just wanted to say, as the proud descendant of all those guys and gals from my family and all other families in Britain and around the world that did their bit to give us the freedom we now enjoy, I think the wearing of the respectful poppy or arm band, is a must and true sign that we will remember all those that gave so much and in many many cases, gave the ultimate sacrifice. Football and other sports, although having participants that are often obscenely over paid (especially those supposedly in charge) does provide a huge amount of employment and the fans pay into the system which has a direct effect on the economy of the country as a whole, so surely with so many people involved, can they/we not all get together and stand up and tell the robbing B.........s at FIFA that this is our past, our relatives, our commemoration, our sign of respect and OUR choice how we display the love for those that we owe so much to. We owe the fat cats in some "neutral" none participant country; absolutely nothing. Bog off and screw somebody else for a few extra euro's to put a bit of fuel in your private jets. Maybe someone should start a protest signature list and send it to someone in the government that might actually take note and have the balls to pass the message onto FIFA that we are all voicing.
