kippylawkid
The wild bird set-aside I shot last week still had huge numbers of pigeons visiting and I decided to shoot again today. I used the same hide as last week and things looked set for another decent bag. If anything, there were even more birds in the air, however the forecast s/west breeze did not materialise and the big flocks approached the field from stratospheric heights. They were obviously wary from the shooting last week but I was still able to entice a good few within shot, using 2 whirlies, 3 flappers and various bouncers. Thank the lord I was able to drive to my position! I picked 77 for another cracking days sport.

old'un
Being of advanced years myself I know what you mean about driving to your chosen spot, there's some weight in 77 pigeons never mind all the other gear you have strapped around your body, looks a really nice place for a days shooting bet the birds took a bit of pulling. Strange how the further south you go PW members reports are of smallish flocks, the pigeons seem to-be in large numbers up north at the minute, sako751sg.....http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/topic/349287-baltic-boxing-day-shooting/ but I think if you get a lot of snow it may well push them southwards, with luck. kippylawkid
Good result I think I say this everytime but I like that dog ha Cheers Roy, Stan is coming along fine. I've probably done more with him than I intended but he's took to sitting quietly in the hide and retrieving when I want him to. He's performed well in the beating line and on the peg so I'm chuffed to bits with him.

He's just a bit of nightmare for running in.
