Enclosed are a couple of images of a percussion fowling piece which is not often seen on the foreshore today .The gun is a double barreled 6 bore with 36 inch barrels and built in the 1830s there is no name but the barrels are birmingham proofed .

Love those fine guns Feltwad. You could still use the six bore on the odd rabbit though couldn't you? Lightly loaded it wouldn't even cost that much.

 

What would the normal load be for a beast like that?

I used a load of 6 drms of Fg or coarse black powder to 2.1/2oz of No 3 shot
