NEVER dealt with such an ignorant bunch of knuckleheaded ****witz!

 

Had a doddery old **** in a car the size of a bus write off my Micra a couple of weeks back.

As he was turning right on a roundabout in the left lane (with no indicators on, etc.) he admitted blame.

LV are his insurers.

 

I'd suggest anyone looking for a good insurer, keep looking.

LV aren't fit for purpose...

 

Every single interaction with LV has been negative. They're incapable of listening.

 

Last week I told them that their valuation was not acceptable...in NO uncertain terms!

Today a letter arrives confirming that I've accepted their valuation & payment has been issued!!

 

Having to get the bank to return the payment.

A whole lot of unnecessary grief due to Mr McGoo!

As someone who had made 2 claims (one non fault and one fault) while insured by lv I'd say the opposite.

 

They were perfect.

 

It sounds like your issue is with churchill. They should be negotiating for you.

 

Iv are one of the best.

Insured with Churchill

Going to see if they can sort LV out for me.

If you are insured with Churchill, why are you personally dealing (or trying to) with LV ? claim off of your insurer and let them sort it out for you. thats what you pay insurance for. if the other bloke is at fault they will counter the claim against him. All insurance companies are a load of poop LV let me down and I paid extra for legal cover, 24 hour help.. and when I needed it they said that I should go and consult a good solicitor. I thought that thats what I paid extra for. it's all in the small print.

They all promise the earth until you claim,going off topic a bit but still insurance 'Admiral'. I had a flood in the kitchen about 7yrs ago, top and bottom of it I needed 3 new base units, new Lino etc. Phoned them to let them know,they said they would appoint a contractor (evaluation/damage assessor) no body turned up after 5 days.In between Susan jumped in saying forget the insurance as its time for a new kitchen.

So I phoned them up to say I didn't want to claim as we've decided that we are going to replace the whole thing and tile the floor etc. Next renewal,premium shot up,they said because I'd enquired it was classed as a claim and I lost my no claims discount.I said stuff it,they said even if you go elsewhere we will inform your new cover provider. How do theses companies get away with it?

Davyo same here with admiral, I notified them when some irate mother on the school run touched the side of my truck on a round about. No damage to mine and wasn't sure if she would try a claim. Next they were chasing her asking her to put one in..... she didn't but premium shot up due to an incident

I was with LV, until a driver, who ran into the back of me was given 50/50 and they wouldnt fight it!. The driver had left Manchester at 3-4am in the morning driven 4-5 hours to my local location (tired?) and unaware of the area or road lay out, was in the wrong lane, by his own admission, he was travelling stright on and in the outside lane, which is a lane for turning right only! I pointed all this out to them, took photos of the lanes/signs etc. The claim was for £180!! I had an excess of £200 and lost my no claims discount!.

 

In contrast i have heard nothing but good about the NFU, who WILL fight your case. This is apparently well known in the insurance industry and therefore other insurance companies wont even try it on with them as they know NFU will have them in court, costing them more.

Lv and probably most insurance rip off outfits are just a shop front. The claims are just shuffled off out to a bulk legal outfit who don't give a monkeys. If a case handler looks over your claim and recons that you don't have more than a 50% chance of winning in court (in there brief opinion) then you are left high and dry. It doesn't seem to matter what the reality of the situation is. Once a decision is taken you can forget about it.

Whilst I was stationary at a motorway roundabout I was hit in the rear by a elderly driver. The car was still under the free 7 day drive away insurance with Aviva, who really didn't want to know.

 

I dealt with LV personally and found they were excellent, I selected a main dealer bodyshop as the car was so new, they agreed the quote, got us a courtesy car for the week and sorted the whole thing out before Aviva even acknowledged the claim.

 

Admiral then increased my premium by £200 for a non fault claim. Told them to stuff it and they matched the cheapest I could find.

Valuation/assessment of repair cost is frequently made for the "INSURER" by an independent "assessor" - working "on behalf" of/ and paid by the "Insurer". This artist will start out with the minimum valuation/repair/replacement value/cost to the "INSURER" (their employer). This artist may insist on assessment of the wreck by their own "appointed" repair specialist ( LOL).... irrespective of distance the wreck has to be transported ( = cost to the INSURED person and which will be factored into the payout offered to the INSURED ( aka MUG ).

Do NOT expect your insurance company to fight your corner - the insurance companies are a cartel with chum arrangements. So be aware of how the system operates.

What to do? ----Fight your own corner ---- Keep refusing assessor's "offer" until you get near to a reasonable figure. The longer that the paperwork for an unsettled claim sits in their Pending Tray then the more likely you are to achieve a half reasonable settlement.

Oh by the way, I forgot to say that in your dialogue with your insurer that the claim is against the other party... and that you will NOT accept a claim history on your record and you will NOT submit to an increased premium on renewal on the basis of this "claim".
