impala59 Posted May 2, 2017 Report Share Posted May 2, 2017 The newest addition to my Ithaca collection is the diminutive 20g Ithaca 66 Supersingle. An unusual single in that it is a lever action that allows the gun to break, it nonetheless actually feels quite normal in its operation. This action does not cock the external hammer which is manually cocked when the gun is loaded. Not very common over here but a popular youth gun in the States, it comes up to the shoulder really well and for a small gun, actually feels just about right. The wood is really nice with no flaws and will benefit from a strip and Danish oil treatment. Re-bluing the barrel and repainting the lever will just about complete its restoration. As long as I had a 37 that was the 37 itch scratched....BUT there was one Ithaca I'd hunted for....and finally sourced it last week.
