ElvisThePelvis
I has been very clear this week that the white neck and wing bars on my flock decoys are way too dull compared to the real thing. I'm thinking of getting hold of some touch up paint and enhancing them, the question is UV or not.. Thanks

Me matt
I made some grey fleece wings for some magnet decoys a few months ago.... birds didn't like the air pro's, cut them out of an old dressing gown lol After raiding my works store I settled on some white matt emulsion- and painted a white stripe on each wing, worked a treat. Not sure on the UV rating but they flapped real good and they drew good birds in.
mudpatten
Out of interest, can anyone supply a definitive extract from a book etc. that clearly shows where the suggestion that we should be using U.V. paint comes from in the first place? I don't if there is, but we know that birds see into the UV spectrum. Whether it's more attractive or not, I've no idea!
Ultrastu
I think the uv thing is b.s.
Walker570
I've always used ordinary brilliant white paint and put a new coat on every so often to keep them bright. I also always put about 50% larger coverage as well. Had birds land alongside them. I have always believed movement is the key. Used simple grey cloth shaped like a pigeon but half as big again, wings outstretched and painted accordingly. These work brilliantly in a good wind along with a bouncer. I concur, last year we did numerous tests with spring sticks. Vs non spring sticks, the results were enlightening

Be best if you took a dead pigeon into b and q and did it properly.

vampire
Thats a brilliant idea,i think and the chap you see there could be anti shooting. I am not really going into b&q with a live or dead pigeon just going to colour match it off my swatch collection and get it mixed as a flat mat paint. Walker570
BUT are the neck makings matt. I think they have a distinct sheen to them.
