RC Hyperfast 35 or 36g

Recommended Posts

Yep ... used a slab of the 35g Fibre 5's in the Valleys last year. They patterned more openly through my guns than the Gamebore, and although brought down quite a few, I went back to plastic wads where I could.

If you're anywhere near the Fens soon, give me a shout and I can let you have a few for comparison purposes.

I had a box of them a while a go and patterned a couple, found the same to be honest, but only compared it to a Proper Cartridge 36g 5. Wondered if anyone had patterned them against a Hull or Gamebore.

Its fibre only where were going. I think now Ive got doubts its better to try and get some of the others and at least pattern a few.

Not seen many people mention them so wondered if peoples general opinion was.

I know this is a old thread, however thought this would be helpful to people.

I patterned RC hyperfasts in 35g 4’s this morning. The results are as mentioned above, too much choke equals blown patterns.

I am now sticking to my 3/8 and 5/8 chokes. All patterns were done @50yards. I was sure I was going to need full and 3/4 at  that distance……

Genuine question but what does a blown pattern look like on a pattern board?

That is exactly what I have seen Teague recommend on several occasions for heavier loads.

Just was no real pattern to it, and big gaps.
Like I thought 3/8 would do at that distance, however I was surprised.

Don’t say that, I will have to buy more Teague chokes to try out 🙈

Will have to get something a little more open for steel maybe skeet and 3/8……

All my game shooting is done through Teague 3/8 and 1/2 chokes, with RC SIPE 32g 5’s.

My favourite decoying choke is 3/8 also, either Teague or Briley, with Eley Pigeon Select 30g 6’s. All work absolutely splendidly.

I tried my normal load 30g 5 Sipe extremes, they looked fine through 3/8 and 5/8 at 40 yards. If I do my bit they will be dead 👌
