bruno22rf
OK- bought a car from a dealer who turned out to be a real conman-car broke down after a couple of minor issues after 6 days but the dealer refused to accept that the 30 return laws even existed. To date I have spent over £1k in repairs and the credit card that I used (to give a little extra piece of mind) has paid out just under £600 - I have now just discovered that the warranty that he put on the car was never paid for so is void. So I left feedback on google - everything I have printed is true and I can prove but somehow the review keeps getting removed - any ideas? ( I also commented on his youtube clip of my very car and that comment was also removed) - any help gratefully received.
Delwint
Take the matter to trading standards
Gordon R
The 30 day rule applies if you can prove that the car had these faults before you left the premises. Trading Standards - well worth a call. I am not sure of exactly what the warranty was or how he didn't pay for it, but I would also speak to the Police, if you suspect fraud. Scotty1980
Iv used trading standards when I bought a bad car, great service, got a full refund (£16500).
Brodie
Any faults within 6 months of buying the car are legally considered to be present at the time of purchase. The trader should be given the opportunity to rectify first. Nothing to do with any warranty - that is additional to your legal rights as above. NorfolkAYA
I had this problem last year, I bought an Audi A4 7 speed auto, 2 weeks later the gearbox spat its guts out. I returned the car for a full refund under "fit for purpose" as it was not. ATB pete
bruno22rf
You cannot contact Trading Standards, you now have to go via Consumer Direct. I have already done this but they are a total waste of space - they simply repeat the advice they gave me 3 months ago when the situation began despite me informing them that the trader simply will not listen - they ended the conversation by saying that they "might" pass the information on to TS but that TS are under no obligation to act or respond. The warranty, they have decided is an "add on" and as such does not come under any legislation. I have repaired the car at my own cost (apart from the credit card companies contribution) because we needed transport over Christmas after having the car sitting motionless for 6 weeks in Nov/Dec following advice from 2 independent Land Rover specialists (gearbox fault showing on dash and car occasionally going into limp home mode) - but this is all water under the bridge now - I need to warn others so my current problem is with Google reviews and how the dealer is getting the review removed? 39TDS
We had a completely unjust negative comment posted about us on Google reviews and Google refused to do anything about it. Contrary to your experience it would seem which surprises me.
12gauge82
I'd look at the small claims court, £80ish to raise a case, that should wake them up a bit.
