yickdaz
I was hesistant about going out today rain was forecast and the rape had been shot by others in the last few weekends so my hopes wasn't high , had a few phone calls from the old fella and old butcher a pw member we shoot the same farms in this particular area were the rape is, and both had said birds were flighting on to 2 different fields so I headed out after dinner today, met the old fella at the field gate he had been watching for a while so we set up straight away at 1pm with the wind at our backs birds started coming from the off slow to start then it got more steady as the session went on they are definitely splitting up now they decoyed mainly with single birds and pairs the odd small pack but they were moving around in singles and small groups were as last week it was big flocks we finished at 4.15pm with 49 picked and 4 lost decent session concidering they have been pressured quite a bit in the area there is still a few days to be had yet on the rape

marsh man
Excellent afternoons sport for you and your dad , it wasn't to cold to sit about today which made a change from the recent bad weather , although the rain is never to far away . I didn't find any signs of the flock(s) splitting up at the moment , just about every pigeon on the estate are in two big flocks , you can watch them pour out of the wood to a different spot on the field or even a different field as there are three fields together and their is no set pattern from one day to the next . very frustrating , you know after a few shots you move them to the next block of rape or they sit up the trees for the rest of the afternoon . pbutd
10/10 for realising there was a bag to be shot...but once again 3/10 for presentation;I think you only do it to annoy some of us on this forum. I was sat having a coffee yesterday afternoon watching one huge flock of pigeons going over very high.I have no idea what they were up to but still flocked up in my neck of the woods? Walker570
Out this morning and biggest group I saw was about 50 and they dropped into the other end of the field. Ones, twos, threes flitting about but very slow here in four hours two woodies and one carrion crow. I could hear two other guns shooting , obviously on pigeons, they only fired a couple of shots every half hour maybe more. Little wind and early mist didn't help.
