We have a fair few scopes that we just don't get around to advertising (our website is woefully underused by us) and we have a few decent scopes on guns that we would split. I know gun shops should make more of their websites and social media, but as an artist I know how time consuming it is, especially as a one man band. My local RFD has a large collection of new and used ‘scopes, but for him to constantly update his online stock would leave him with little time for anything else. I also know money is tight and we all like a bargain, but at least we can ring round to see what our local RFD’s have got. I love a good ratch around a gunshop, but if we shop online for that cheaper item from the specialist companies who possibly don’t even have the item in stock anyhow but just order it in on demand ( which your RFD can do ) then we’re going to lose them. There are very few good art material shops less than at least an hours drive away from me now; there used to be four.....all closed down now because they can’t compete with online prices. The biggest money making retail outlets out there last year ( according to a property developer I know ) were bookies, charity shops and Greggs. We used to have a small fishing and shooting outlet in my home town and an art materials shop. We have neither now, but at least four charity shops. Just a thought. I messaged my local RFD’s - one I asked to get me a price for a scope that they’re a registered seller of, several times - they replied they were on it - then repeatedly never got back to me. The other repeatedly told me the old “you don’t want that one, you want this one” - the one they recommended just so happened to have been sat on their shelf for many months with them being unable to shift it...
