FOXHUNTER1
Popped out this morning to try for another buck . The forecast wasn't great but at least it was dry , it was a bit misty but I could still see far enough to have a glass. Saw a few deer and managed to grass this lad as he was crossing a stubble , 100 yds facing me so shot him front of neck , dropped on the spot Back home by 8am , thick fog dropped so had made the most of the small window of opportunity . oowee
Your hard at work FH1 I stalked 50 acres of woodland and zilch. driving out I spot three likely Roe wandering over. Stop the car by the gate and stalk in behind a water trough down from 250m to 60. On the sticks and the three are laying down drop one where it lays and the other two stand and the second shot sees the two on the ground. Doe takes ages to leave and comes back again during the gralloch. Edited April 3, 2018 by oowee spelling
Walker570
Yep, looks like you shot her two boys from last year but good eating all the same. Moderators certainly do help these days with getting a second chance, they just don't know what happened do they. That is a nice buck FH. Looks in top class condition. Walker570
Have not had a chance to get out for a roe yet, ##### awful weather, but reports from contacts indicate there are a lot about this year. I know I'm seeing roe slots in rape fields where I would not expect roe to be yet, but they are spreading up through Warwickshire into Leicestershire and Staffordshire in fair numbers. Miss my days in Somerset. My last Somerset buck 20yrs ago ...note the old Husher mod. Edited April 3, 2018 by Walker570

That's interesting. I tended to think they were pretty much everywhere.

Walker570
They very well will soon be for sure. I mean, munties everywhere but roe seem to be localised up here North Warwicks, West Leicestershire, yet seem to be pretty regular on the east side of Leicester. Are they following that 'Cotswold limestone ridge' . I remember the first roe 'appearing' magically, in South Warwickshire around Studley/Redditch in the mid 80s, in fact a German friend shot one on some ground I had back then.
