Hello Boys, can anyone advise on the best light to sit on top of my .243 looking for a tight beam at 300 yds, much appreciated

I’ve got a tr 67 on my 243 from ludicrous lumens. It’s ok to shoot from but not the best at positively identifing at distance

hello, 300 yards is a fair distance for any torch are you looking at white or red ? i can get 200 with my TR38 torch and a 2 X doubler lens, although i only use a 22 L/R

I use a light occasionally and in the past have been out 3 - 4 times a week with one.  I would hope that you have a spotter with a very good pair of binos to confirm what it is your shining on.

Often had supposed fox turn into a sheep even at 200yrds.

If you want 300 yards it's going to be either a lightforce 140 or 240 blitz.. And forget the red filter. The Blitz will do it with ease, with a decent scope recognition is fine out to 300+ if your not shooting over flat terrain then no probs.

Another for the lightforce i use a 170 striker on the centre fires and a old clulite clubman on the rimfire .

As pretty much everyone has said, 300 is a very long way under a lamp/torch, and any filter, particularly red will bring that down.  Nothing I know will give you a TIGHT beam at that distance, obviously some are better than others.

Whilst several lamps/torches claim 300 and MORE you would need very good eyes to be sure of your target!

We all have different shooting requirements/situations, but I rarely find the need to shoot at anything like that distance at night, good luck to you, if you find something that fits your bill a report would be useful.

The Lightforce 240 Blitz will give a very tight beam, right out to 400+ yards if needed. I've proved this with mine, and it was excellent for spotting a Fox at that distance.
