bluesj
Quick question, do power showers need a hot and cold water supply or just a cold supply?
12gauge82
If you mean an electric shower it just needs a cold feed.
humperdingle
A power shower with really powerful pump will need hot and cold. The flow from a purely electric shower will be dependent on its Kw rating, as to how quickly it can heat ambient temperature water.
Remimax
what type is your heating system ? if you have a hot water tank the cold feed for the shower pump will have to come from the header tank to keep it balanced. for a power shower you will need hot and cold . Wood fire! no central heating. so water is electrically heated. looks like a power shower is out ☹️
figgy
If you have a hot water storage cylinder , you will need a larger capacity cold water tank to make sure you run out of hot water before cold so you can’t get scolded. This is for pumped power showers. You may also need a Essex flange or salamander insert connection outlet fitting.

haynes
Correct me if im wrong. I dont think you can use a power shower if youve only got a combi boiler and mains fed cold water.

haynes
Thats fine. The ones i have had dealing with had to be fitted to a gravity fed system as they couldnt suck or pressurise water that isnt available. So if the flow was fixed from the boiler then it couldnt ask for more to up the pressure. Im not a plumber so happy to be educated.
