Will 1994
Does anyone know a rough price on altering the cast of a gun right to left? I’m thinking of purchasing a RH maxum and having the cast adjusted to suit. ( Cannot find a LH maxum ) Thanks william
islandgun
you can get an adjustable comb fitted for about 200 pounds. up down left or right
bornfree
Adjustable is the best option as wood often goes back after it's been bent.
welshwarrior
£80-120 from a gunsmith not a shop.
Clodhopper
I recently had the cast altered on my o/u. I took it to a reputable gunsmith, it was about £100 including VAT.

telf
Type “the leatherman cheek risers “ in your search engine ,some good gear on there
prem1234
If you do pick up a RH Maxum shoot it first to see how you get on. I'm a lefty but recently bought a RH Silver pigeon III and I shoot that better than my previous Left handed one.....
Westley
I would shoot the gun before making any decisions about altering the cast. One of my Grandsons and his friend are both left handers. However when I take them shooting, they both use my Beretta 303 auto very well indeed. I am right handed and also shoot the same gun reasonably well. All I would advise is wearing some safety glasses, especially when using fibre wads, I have known flakes of powder to blow back towards the shooter when firing the gun. The ejection port is on the same side of the gun as a left handers face and eyes and I have been hit in the face with flakes of powder when I have been looking over their shoulders, during their Instruction. Robertt
I witnessed a left hander using a right handed auto when the extracter claw broke and hit him in the eye. Luckily the damage was not permanent but could have been ! So, definately a safety glasses job.
