redthunder
Alrite PW, After the last few foxes ive had with the 100 grain bullets in .243 i found they droped like a stone after 175 yards so i changed ammo and bought some Federal Premier 55 grain .243 v shock bit hard on the pocket (£27.99 KEENS ) But they look the dogs *****cks and at 3850 ft per second super quick. So i waited for a calm dry day to rezero ( I waited 3 weeks ) The other day was mint so off we went set the target 100 yards with the range finder shot 3 groups with last group set 1.5 inches high at 100yards and the grouping was under half inch well pleased anyway we went out the following night to have a look for Charlie. I set up on this high mound so you can see a couple of hundred acres and waited for charlie as they often cross the field in front of the mount 200 yards or so out coming from the woods just as it was going dark i could see 2 foxes out about 250-260 yards after watching them for a few minutes i lost sight of them behind a tree 2 minutes later they poped out the other side and went and sat on this big rock not far off 190-200 yards, laying on the floor with bipod out i flicked off the safety took a slow breath and let one rip heard the thud over the t8 looked through the scope and couldn't see nothing :look: the other run and came back a minute later and was sniffing the rock going crazy turning round and round up and down so slid a bullet in chamber and waited for foxy to stop and when it stoped i nailed that one too

v-max
Hello & well done good jack a norie never used that light a bullet when i had a 243 but have a 22.250 now & shoot 50/55g v-max & find they dont expand much after 250m but still put them down or the 25/06 with the 75g v-max do the trick. steve_b_wales
Nice shooting. I've got a box of the same bullets you mentioned, also bought at Keen's my local gun shop. I have'nt tried them yet. The lightest bullet I used ( homeload ) was 70grain. I'll have to give them a go soon.

lazza
redthunder I think "jack a norie" is slang for story! and the way I read it v-max was agreeing with you on the 55gn bullets.
