It has one of those plunger rods that normally open close it, I've tried using a Stanley knife blade to prise it open but can't, , , any help would be great? Thanks in advance
Stephen-H
It should have a little rod down the back where you can adjust it you may be able to undo it and then push it up to release it
Guest
Take the pipe of the trap underneath but a bowl or bucket underneath the trap and push the plug up with a screwdriver .bail some water out of sink first Edited March 30, 2019 by Guest
Blackpowder
Have a look behind the sink and you might see that the plunger and lever which operates the plug has a lost or loose screw. Tighten and your problem could be solved. Blackpowder

Stimo22
Do you mean the type that clicks up and down, because they sometimes stick shut. If so you need to turn it to unscrew the top and then buy a new click clack button from the internet
figgy
You may have fixed it by now, if not put your hand behind and find the short rod that comes out below the plug and pull it down, this should push up the plug in the basin Chances are one of the bolts has come loose and the plunger has slipped down the connecting rod, easy fix just as to get to. If it's a push down pop up waste, pushing it down and tapping on it can release it's meachanism. Edited March 30, 2019 by figgy
