Shadowchaser
Might be a rhetorical question as Google lists the store as permanently closed and other info I can find suggests it's been bought out by Raytrade UK based in Hampshire. I hadn't heard of anything in passing from others in the shooting fraternity.

Diver One
Strange as I was shooting at toplands two weeks ago and was told it had closed. This was by a bloke who lives around the corner from them and was now looking for a new source for his cartridges.

Shadowchaser
The website is still live as Entwistle Guns - but the address is listed as being in Hampshire. I wonder why they closed?

Shadowchaser
I was going to pop in and look at a Yildiz in the next few weeks, that's how I came across the info. Cheers for the replies and confirming it's closure.

Mike Shepley
I was trying to find out whether the shop was still open as I was unable to access the website and in particular the Entwistle history. My great grandfather Stephen Troughton, gunsmith, founded Entwistle Guns, named after his nephew Sam Entwistle. I've an old sepia photo of Sam somewhere filling 12 bore cartridges and had the pleasure of meeting him in the 1950s. I did some shooting (badly) and chose angling and shooting with a camera instead. I may not be 100% accurate on this but entwistles had two,shops....one in blackpool and one in preston near the cattle market ( now a housing estate ) Later moved to their now closed location at some time there was a split and the Blackpool shop, was taken over by Vaughan Landless a gunsmith the shop eventually closed and Vaughan now does his smithing from Pilling. The S . Entwistle Clothing brand I believe is owned by his daughter Lauren Landless. I know this because he is my gunsmith

Walker570
Pity about Entwistles closing. I only spoke with them at the Shooting Show a couple of times and found them very acomodating and friendly people. I know Derby Guns have some Yilditz and believe Solware also have some in stock but maybe limited gauges. I wish them well in their retirement. Bencorcoran
Shame about the shop, did the old Tollet double 8 sell? I would have loved to buy that but was too much for me as a once a year gun.
Baikel man
yes the double 8 was BBs gun apparently. Sold before the shop closed
