Recommended Posts

Know a guy who started using them last year and really rates them at proper pheasants. He`s putting them through a fairly lwt s/s.

I tried a few boxes and they were ok, I'm not sure what makes them the ultimate 20 bore cartrige. I struggle to see past Hull Cartridges frankly childish marketing these days.

I ended up sticking with RC as my 690 seems to pattern more consistently with those as opposed to Hull.

Agree ,marketing gimmickry seems to pervade our home based cartridge loaders. RC simply load good cartridges and have a reputation.

Shot sizes at 4.5 and 5.5 seem bit big for an effective pattern, 4.5 seems too big for other than the extreme pheasant numpties who will surely be the demise of our sport

What's a proper pheasant?

have I been shooting fake/counterfeit pheasants?

Anyway RC sipe #6 and Fiocchi GFL #6 in 20 make short work of the "normal birds"

have yet to try these Ultimate 20's so I can't comment further.

Using the (previously) generally accepted pattern requirements for the 4&1/2s, then for both pheasant sexes the Max' range would be 46 yards and for cocks only 51 yards. Therefore, if one was to take luck out of the equation it would seem that the 5&1/2s are the better option.

Not extreme but good ,high pheasants presented on a long established pheasant shoot!

I love the 'low brass aids ejection', so whay are their high end 12b loads all high brass?

Looks Remember first time you walked in a shop and saw those fiocchi loads that had 900 bar wrote around the top of the long high brass rim. LOOKS!

All cases should be ACTIVE style, sick of having to rub up the rusting rims on modern cheap high bras fowling loads, no matter what brand they are all rusty in too short a time.

Hull produce very good loads and I find soft shooting compared to most.
However if you want a 5.5 any RC 6 would be a 5.5 and usually much cheaper
