treetree
Hello all, I've got a fair amount of wooden deck boards from a deck that had to come up. It's currently getting in the way in the garage. Has anyone got any ideas for projects that deck boards lend themselves to for the garden? Planters seem the obvious choice, but they look a little too rustic for my taste. I've already built a sandpit for the kids, but am keen to use this wood up as it's in the way ( and I need something to do)

panoma1
Made this picnic table about 10/12 years ago......ideal when we have a Barbie........hardwood decking and tantalised timber legs etc!
treetree
I have about 15 lengths that must be 3m and probably 30 lengths of around 1m. Like I say, constantly tripping over the stuff and hampering my garage re-org. Plan to make a storage unit later
Dougy
I knocked a load of raised beds up for my neighbor, cheap as chips and we get to share the veg.
moondoggy
Donate it to me. I am going to build some decking. 👍😂👍
strimmer_13
I made planters as you said. You'll be surprised how much wood that will get rid of
1066
I need a small log store for a woodburner in my workshop. I've got a bit of decking spare and can't really get out to buy anything else so will see if I can cobble something together. On another note - I've always thought the electric chainsaws a bit girly, however, on the recommendation of a mate and huffing and puffing over temperamental two strokes I bought a £50 jobbie from Screwfix - Really quite pleased. treetree
I've knocked together a sandpit, and also possibly the ugliest paint/ liquids storage unit for the garage. Most of the boards are cupped and dirty, so really only any good for 'rustic' looking pieces. I have the same chainsaw, the titan from screwfix. Really good, as is their electric hedge trimmer
1066
Decking log store done - about £40 total using some Wickes decking board I've had sitting around to make a gate for the side of the house.

I used that wickes cheap board, it aint too bad a timber tbh, think £3.16 a 1.8m length.
1066
I used exactly the same - I bought a bundle of 10 x 1.8m - Just ripped them down the middle to make the slats.
