Lovely job. Do not know where you sourced the green baize lining, but I bought a crossword mat in the local charity shop at 50p. I use that on the kitchen table as a gun cleaning mat. I have since seen another 2 in there. They come in a large cardboard tube, ideal for storing cleaning rods in. They measure aprox 3' x 2' so 2 of them would easily line a case for the grand sum of £1.

Sounds interesting, it would depend on the thickness too thick and you alter the internal dimensions I tend to use Melton wool which is what is used in the originals, have you any pictures of the baize?

Now, I can certainly take some pictures, BUT as to my getting them on here, well, that could be a different matter. I will have a go tomorrow (phone on charge). It is a similar thickness to snooker table cloth and I used to get the old cloths to re-line gun cases and cabinets many years ago. It certainly seems thin enough to me.
