Not really it's called Nature. Its here to stay and we must adapt.

Agree a crappy attitude, follow that logic why have any health care just let nature take its course.

Hearing reports about people no longer having immunity after 4-5 months, the prospect of people being able to catch Covid-19 twice and the fact that it will then just keep going round and round over and over, is Covid-19 death going to become the new normal?

If that was the case would you not just get a booster every 6 months :hmm:it will probably keep going around like the flu, but with a vaccine it will be manageable like the flu.

Even with a vaccine plenty of elderly and immune compromised people die from the flu every year. You just tend not to hear about it that much.

Apprently Covid is far more deadly to those that catch it than ‘just the flu’, so reason would suggest that survival rates would still be a lot lower.

It’s all just speculation at the moment.

Dont know why some people are getting upset about the fact they might leave behind kids... no one is wishing death on anyone 😬 but if it is that bad then that might be the reality (let’s hope not)!

I guess in a way - old and ill people die more than young people.  That is how it goes.

Covid is certainly taking it's toll on the old,  and I agree it may be just hastening the inevitable slightly.  But actually quite a few middle aged and younger get unpleasantly ill - though most do get over it - and also quite  few elderly get it mildly, or asymptomatically - which is good.

As you rightly say - its all a bit guesswork at present.

I had a fair few very elderly 70/80+ with numerous health conditions catch Covid when I was in Hospital discharge and a lot of them survived it and made full recovery! 👍🏻

Yes quite; as I have said (possibly on another thread, I loose track(!)), fairly elderly (70s I think) neighbours both had confirmed Covid - and both are now better.  He ( he also has other conditions) did have a short hospital spell.

Few vaccines' eradicate a disease they help keep it at manageable levels, less people with the virus will help protect the elderly and immune compromised etc.

I don't think it's as bad as has been reported , political games being played. Just live your life and what will be will be.

If it genuinely isn’t as bad as being reported, then you have to ask why we have totally burned the economy for something that ‘isn’t that bad’...

If that’s true when what nasty surprise do we have coming?

We’d all rather be old mate. But if we go we go, we don’t get a preference.

This thread isn’t about what we want to happen, but it is what could happen.

A stark reality.

The thing is we are only supposed to live to our 50s but with modern medicine and lifestyle many people are being forced to live way beyond that by pumping  them full of drugs , it's not natural. I do not want to end up in a care home with dementia , eating my own **** , rather die younger with dignity.

Covid patients should all be sent to the Nightingale hospitals to recover or die and leave hospitals to cope with other health conditions. The harsh reality is if you get sick , stay at home and either get better or die. Why let the economy fail for a few that are no real loss to society in the big scheme of things.

Boris and crew are too scared to make the right decisions instead trying to please everyone . Wonder what Thatcher would have done , she would have sorted it 👍

what a warm hearted human you are full of warmth and feeling for the poor economy suffering because of the sick and dying how selfish of them seriously?

Why should millions of people and businesses suffer because of a few dying . I have been made redundant due to this virus so it has affected me too , we need to live with it instead of ruining millions of peoples lives. Mother Nature is just getting rid of the sick and weak , survival of the fittest.  If I get it and die so be it but we can't continue like this.

It is the flu so my Doctor tells me, just a particularly nasty one. History shows we have had one or two before.  Our Health Service was just not prepared for it. To many Chiefs and not enough Indians maybe but common sense should tell the people who organise these things that you organise for the worse scenario not the cheapest.  Our army used to have a huge stock of equipment but a large part of that store for emergency use has been sold ...found that out when the Argies went into the Falklands.

We cannot all live for ever but this must instil in everyone to enjoy every minute of every day and make everyone elses day enjoyable as well.  It ain't a rehearsal.
