Covid Requirements

It has cost 75 Billion and 500,000 jobs and the deaths of 800 people with an average age of 83 and no female under the age of 50 and only three men under the age of 40 (one of which was a drug overdose) and three months being locked up 23 hours a day in your own home with 5km travel and 8pm curfew to get 9 consecutive days of no new cases and no deaths for a population of 6.4 Million.

Or

You could say summer is here and it was going anyway, like the flu.

What would I know.

And funny how cases have gone up again as the weather changed. Just like any other flu.

Lots of crazy rules and lock downs and to me at least none of it makes sense.

Same as any other virus, protect the vulnerable while the rest of the world gets on with life.

Remember the photos and videos at the start of all of this where people (in China) were shown collapsing in the street and men in white coats and masks coming to pick them up in stretchers?

Anyone believe any of that now? Anyone feel a bit stupid for having believed it?

I'm glad I've got plenty to do and haven't had to suffer the lock downs like many.

When is it going to sink in - the number of deaths is not the real issue it is the number of hospitalisations.   As most of the "velnerable" are still taking precautions most of the circa 180k (This number is far higher than the "flu" numbers) hospitalisations so far are from the "sod the old let us get on with life" groups as this virus seems far more infectious.

It is to stop the hospitals being over whelmed by these cases, blocking other treatments that the actions have been taken.

The Covid stats have been corrupted because since October 8th they've lumped flu deaths in with Covid. About 11,000 people die from flu each year, almost all in the 20 or so weeks between November & March. That's around 500+ per week being added in with the Covid deaths. Whether that was done as a deliberate ploy to scare us with the death rate is up to each individual to decide but, given the readiness of the 2 top scientific advisers to use "adjusted" stats, I know what I think.

So we're constantly being told, but I'd like to know how many of those in hospital actually need to be there and how many of them would be just as well off at home on the sofa as if they had a heavy dose of flu. The blame avoidance culture in the NHS is a top priority these days after the many scandals over recent years.

I'm guessing you don't know anyone working in the NHS , I'll be sure to tell my sister in law that all the sick patients with Covid they've been moving around just have the flu.

You rather miss the point! Yes I believe in Covid 19, never said I didn't, but what I don't believe is that everyone in hospital with it needs to be there.

p.s. yes I do know 2 or 3 NHS workers.

I'd read this part as you thinking it was being blown out of proportion,  I wouldn't have thought anybody would be in hospital at the moment if they didn't need to be, or at least hope not?

Well it's a tricky call. Someone gets ill with typical symptoms and they feel lousy etc. Because the propaganda from government and broadcast media keep reinforcing the belief that Covid is a deadly disease, so, following advice from the government they call the NHS who, because of the blame avoidance culture, immediately send an ambulance and bring the patient into hospital. Now they can hardly send the patient home next day if they still have a temperature and shortness of breath, even if the patient isn't in real danger, and that bears down unnecessarily on care resources and adds to the pressures on the staff.

Why worry about any other method of dying? We just blocked all other elective surgery and diagnosis for 5 months to ensure the empty hospital beds and furloughed nurses stayed that way. Its one thing to die of cancer but if you die of Covid that will make the front page of the news. Now people unable to  see a specialist who have been diagnosed with a terminal disease are suing the government.

Firstly that picture looks photoshopped and second My cousin is a nurse on a covid ward in Scotland. However there is no way she'd want to swap positions when I was working underground as a miner in nickel and gold mines. So anybody who thinks that a nurse is the most dangerous occupation must have a job as a basket weaver.

They would not be in hospital if they did not to be there they are accessed on arrival breathing oxygen levels etc, If their observations are OK then they are sent home. Obviously depending on the age and medical history of the patient.

They will send patients home the next day with shortness of breath and a temperature, after checking they have no serious complications.

It might well be who knows?

As to you working in a mine?? And?? You went there by choice to earn a massive wage no doubt.

Nurses choose to be nurses but they don't expect to get Ill and die from doing the job.
