And I know first hand, I have the picture of a pub serving sausage butties as a substantial meal, then you can drink. For many its also time away from the wife and 2 hrs at the end of the week just isnt enough

Forget covid, I'm surprised they're not putting themselves out of business at those prices On 04/12/2020 at 17:06, Vince Green said: I'm with the police on this, chuck them out of the pub, the pub landlord says its harassment, I say its sound policing I do get the impression you are not going to be happy until we are living in a police state. Surely places like this could be caught out as they won't been food hygiene certified? With the screaming to get wet bars open it just shows to me that this country collectively has a drinking problem. Your'e right, sod the Covid lets get some ale thrown down our necks quick. Scully
In OH’s place of work ( high end restaurant ) on Friday night, four people arrived together, not from the same household, and were put on two separate tables of two, which they promptly tried to move together. It took the maitre de to intervene to tell them that was a no no. One couple asked for another bottle of wine after their meal, but were told they could only drink with a meal, and as the maitre de walked away, my OH heard the woman off the other table say ‘ don’t worry, you can have some of ours ‘. 🤷♂️

Smokersmith
We got told today that we (2 households) couldn’t sit on 2 separate tables. I pointed out that other households were sat on separate tables, to the reply that they were strangers so it was OK. At that point we left. Smokersmith
The lady in question was very stressed out by the whole situation and it wasn't computing for her ... her manager agreed with me, but by that time I'd lost the desire to give them any of my hard earned.
