So the Germans are now blaming their upcoming third wave entirely on the ‘British variant’ - no mention of their totally inefficient vaccination programme.

France is as well, probably other countries too

Suspected but never proved, they say the first identified case was in Chatham I believe

I believe that one of the reasons that new variants are often spotted in the UK is simply because the UK has one of the largest and best Genomic Sequencing set ups anywhere.  Hence things getting first 'spotted' here https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9079333/How-Britain-shot-foot-best-world-sequencing-viruses.html

Exactly - we have some of the world’s top scientists and we are more transparent than most counties - the fact that variant was discovered here and communicated to the rest of the world is as a result of the above. Had it been a commy evil regime like China it would have been hidden, possibly with the scientists made to disappear just like they tried when they caused this mess.

And had it been in the EU, it would have been lost in the paperwork and endless peer review/approval cycles for months .....

Yes. Their mentality is process, forms, stamps and permission.

Ours (and because of our common law) is that you can pretty much do what you like without permission as long as it doesn’t affect others.

Didn't the "British variant" come into Kent from France in the first place

Had it come from France, then surely there would be mirrored cases in France and it would have been a French variant? Viruses mutate, the Kent one is just a variation on the original

Yes remember a documentary on television quite recently and they traced the Kent variant down to one poor fella.  Cant remember the exact details, but he had a massive viral load and lived for weeks in intensive care . He became a living breeding a ground for the vaccine mutation.

Its quite possible it did, Holland was a stronger suggestion with Rotterdam being implicated, but they weren't (and still aren't) actively searching for new mutations in any of these countries.
