new to the flock
To carry on from H's soup thread. Mungler mentioned indigestion, so my question is what did you use to love to eat that now gives you indigestion? For me it use to be onion sandwiches. Two nice slices of thick bread covered in mayo, black ground fresh pepper, and 2 1/4 inch thick slices of onion....sweet, spanish, garden they all had a differant flavour. I still eat them occationally but when I do I know I am facing a case of indigestion within 2 minutes of finishing B) NTTF

LEFTY478
Mrs L used to knock up some fine Pawns in (very) garlic butter (lots and lots of) served with plain boiled rice, which I liked very much. About 8 years ago I (although we both ate the same thing) woke up at about midnight with that old dreaded taste in the mouth. I tried to ignore it but about 30 mins later, I began what turned into roughly 4 hours of being violently ill. I still like and eat all of the four ingredients, separately, but couldn't face eating the mixture since.

Mungler
We have a local bakery that does *the best* fresh white bread. Fresh warm white chicken sandwich (it's not the chicken that gets the burn). Anything bread or pastry based for me. Oh yes and ready salted Hula Hoops. NorfolkBoy
Recently some cheap Californian white whine called 'Charles Shaw' but aka 'Two Buck Chuck' has been keeping me awake for hours with heartburn. The few bottles remaining are being kept for clearing drains and removing oil stains. B)
Ferret Master
Really strong Ribena that hasn't been watered down properly does it for me. And practically all I drink on weekdays is Ribena, milk and coke so it's not an uncommon problem. B) FM

ME
To carry on from H's soup thread. Mungler mentioned indigestion, so my question is what did you use to love to eat that now gives you indigestion? I take a prescription drug called Losec for indigestion. I went to the docs in the mid nineties with BAD indigestion. she said "so how much do you drink a week?", I said "about 50". She said "units of alcohol ?" i said "no, pints". (I worked in a pub) then she said "and how much do you smoke ?", i said "oh, about 40 a day" (i have since given up) The doc then reconfirmed, "so you drink 100 units A WEEK ? and you smoke 280 cigarettes A WEEK ?"..... "and you are asking me why you have chronic indigestion ?"..... - I had to give her that one !!! Unfortunately, the die is now cast, I only have to pass an onion or a clove of garlic and I am doubled over !!! EDIT : Rollmops. Mmmmm....pleasure.....pain..... lurcherboy
The short cut to it is Zantac. I have one in the morning and one in the evening and have no problems with heartburn no matter what I fill my mudguts with Of course I will probably die from the constant use of Zantc but what the ****. Remember to take one 30 minutes before going for it. LB
