ph5172
Just an interest thing to see how many Cartridges we actually use, and if the discounts were big enough if it would be worth the lads and ladetts in a given area joining up to place orders. I know you can get discounts on 5000 & 10 000+ but im not sure how much or if its worth even bothering. So really an interest poll to pass the time - and i may even work out how much combined we all spend on carts and clays (if i have my maths head on...lol)

MC
I have used over 5000 since the clay season started in about early march. During the summer I could easily shoot 500 a month.

pin
For those who replied so far (52 people) assuming £100 / thousand carts the monthly spend in total is between £1705 - £1745 Interestingly assuming clay shooting only and a low 15p a target, the cost on targets is nearly double that of shells. Minimum £2557 max £2617. That brings the average spend per shooter to about £92-£94/month on shells and targets. I am sure most people pay a little more than that per target, too. Suffolk shooter
Last year I shot well over 7500, this year I haven't done as much clay shooting, but still must be getting on for 5000 and with the season upon us this will only go up with Monday madness firing off 400 odd in one day. Cushat
I know you can get discounts on 5000 & 10 000+ but im not sure how much or if its worth even bothering. You got me thinking - so I rang justcartridges and they offer a 2% net discount on orders of 10,000 or more (works out about £30!) OR they offer free delivery - usually worth about £55. I know margins are pretty poor on cartridges, but surely they are enough people on here who could get together and negotiate a better discount than that?? Ten people wanting two thousand each - gotta be worth a decent discount?? I'd be up for a mixed couple of thousand in the Reading area. We found that discounts were disappointing as well We looked into bulk orders a couple of times in the Manchester area, but it never came to anything, because the discounts weren't worth making a significantly bigger outlay than normal. We all tend to buy cartridges 1000 at a time round here, and I think the situation was that we could get a few quid off per 1000, if we bought about 3000/4000 each in one go :look:  :( Didn't seem worth having £500 quid or so sat in the cupboard doing nothing. I normally make sure I need loads of stuff and then take a drive up there.
Dunkield
I probably use about 1 -2,000 a year. I would only hope to god the people who claim to use 1,000+ a month are very good shots
ph5172
Ok done some very basic maths!! Using the 75 votes so far, the middle of each range (to account for those who shoot more / less) We shoot in total per month 26950 carts = 359pp pm x 12months = 4312 carts pa pp £150 per thousand = £600 pa on carts add that to the 172 rounds of 25 clays at £5 per round GRAND TOTAL OF £1460 PA PP ....... give or take a bit either side!!! Wookie
You just keep that figure to yourself ok? If my better half sees that, I might be in big trouble.
