Old Boggy
A few years ago Sporting Gun showed a decoy set up within an advert for a rotary, I believe and clearly one of the birds set up was a stock dove. This was pointed out to them and the advert quite rightly, was removed and never seen again. It does make you wonder who proof reads these magazines, if at all. Pushandpull
Shooting Gazette once showed a Brent (of all things) laid out in the bag of an inland midlands shoot, while the BASC magazine had a Bar-headed Goose in a row of early season Greylags. It happens.
Fatcatsplat
Netflix ran this advert last week for their Motley Crue documentary - With a picture of Steel Panther - A Motley Crue parody band - As said above, it happens
Gas seal
A friend asked me if I could identify birds in a photo on his computer. It was a photo of dead pigeons laid out in neat rows on a stubble field. The top rows were woodpigeon and the bottom row had about six stock doves. He showed me two more photos that had stock doves in the rows of pigeons. He told me that the stock doves were described as feral pigeons in the story that went with the photos. The photos were from this website and it was the first time I had seen this website .
TIGHTCHOKE
Some shooters see an awful lot of "Feral" pigeons!
Fellside
It’s easy to avoid the stock doves - only shooting if they have a fair chunk of white somewhere. A few dove looking ferals slip through the net, but so be it. Terrible gaff in the mag’ BTW.
