It's always a bit of a puzzle to me when people are so surprised when politicians are found to be lying and deceitful. It is simply what they (or at least the vast majority of them) do. Starmer was one of Corbyn's right hand men; his Brexit shadow secretary, and a front bench person in the shadow cabinet, committed to supporting their leader, Jeremy Corbyn, which he did frequently and volubly. As soon as Corbyn is out of the leadership and Starmer is in - Corbyn sacked and has Labour whip removed (and for a time even party membership suspended). I'm not complaining - Corbyn deserved every sacking and suspension for his anti Semitic stance, but all that loyalty to him when he was leader - when Starmer must have known what Corbyn was like and that he would sack Corbyn at the first possible opportunity. holloway
If that was Boris the press would hound him for months double standards and a different agenda.

Pushandpull
In a two party (or thereabouts) system, a politician can only support the one closer to their beliefs, and go with the published manifesto until they reach a position of influence. The current squabbling over the Tory leadership shows that this is subject to a lot of interpretation and loyalty between individuals goes out of the window. The original post is about what seems to be a poor bit of admin rather than a crime, and would look a lot better if the spelling of Mr. Starmer's name was correct. Look at how many transactions most of us are running every day and add to that numerous locations and a team working on your behalf this sort of thing is going to happen all the time. In my book there is nothing wrong with Starmer its the rest of the party where it comes unstuck. Any idea what they stand for?

I agree, but I think working out in the garden with some food and wine was a nothing. The UK media were like a pack of rabid dogs over that one though. Didn't he even tour East Germany on a motorbike with Diane Abbot riding pillion? He must have had the equivilent of a Communist Party Gold Card to have such high level clearance. You then have to ask what he had been doing to earn it? The man is a total sanctimonious hypocrite. Reminds me of the time there was a good attempt at stealing my identity. I collated all the details together including loans the person had tried to get, with his name and address and went to the police station. I explained to the station staff what had happened and that he had tried to apply for loans and credit cards in my name to which they replied "well, he only tried...." I turned round and said fair enough - I will just go home and try and kill the wife then.... To the sounds of laughter from the queue behind me and the station staff looking very embarrassed..
