Looking for Game Shooting in Cambridgeshire

Pull up Richard Gray  Premier Game Days on Facebook.  I think he may be booked full but always a chance of a cancellation.  Usually 60 to 150 bird days and good value.  I have been shooting with hime now for five or six seasons, averaging ten or a dozen days each season and in that time have only had two poor days at new venues and Richard did not book with them again.

Try him on 07855 586471  say Neville gave you the number.

Do you book on your own or go with a full group?

I fancy the odd day next season but am a bit apprehensive about going with a group of unknowns.

I book as an individual and over that period have only experienced one gun I wouldn't wish to shoot with... exceptionally greedy.  In facr Richards clientel has now become so regular I find I am shooting with the same faces very often.  This last week I arrived to find an old shooting friend I had not seen for five years.  It is a fair run up from Bristol but I did a day last year and the main team where farmers from Somerset...great crowd.  I have no pecuniary interests whatsoever in Richards business but I have no hesitation in putting him forward as a solid bet.    Straight, honest and works his butt off to see you have a good day.  Hope we may shoot together next season.

The group of unknowns would be equally apprehensive about a new addition 🙄

think about it

Now book a day and make some new friends

However safe, sporting and nice/good company the others are, it is never a substitute for shooting with friends, preferably old friends.

I’ve created a lot of friendships over the years by shooting with strangers

its a good way to expand your life experiences

45 years ago a chance encounter in a gun shop 200 miles from home

browsing as you did pre internet a lad was asking in the shop if the owner new of anybody available to shoot the next day

we have shot together ever since

Very nice.

I, too, have made new friends through shooting with strangers but it is sooo much better when they have become old friends, don’t you think?

Just returned from two back to back days in Norfolk arranged with Premier Game Days ..first day torrential rain so we only managed 160, second day I blame the bright sun but we still managed 170 with no overage. Most enjoyable as I said I thought that Richard was fully booked for the rest of the season but always a chance tp take up a cancellation so worth having him put you on the list.   Great to be back in Norfolk again and brought some local brew back from the Fur & Feather Pub / Brewery and tried the Wherry ale and had to drink two to be sure it was as nice as it tasted.

Glad you enjoyed your two back to back days in our fine county , pity the weather wasn't as nice as it have been today , still you achieved the bags and sampled the Wherry ale to your liking , did you shoot well ?

First drive the sciatica was killing me and I shot sitting on my three leg folding stool. Killed eight birds and then things went down hll🤣

Second drive the rain came down with a vengeance and it was difficult to stand. Didn't get a shot.

Third drive did about average and the rain had cleared, had two or three. The fourth I was number 2 but the keeper spread the birds so well and trickled them through nice and steady aling the whole line. Can remember one right and left but didn't make a not of how many.

Second dau we met at the Fir & Feather and thre weather was to good and I had not packed my sun shade.  Still managed to shoot a couple of boxes and a lady picker up congratulated me on a high partridge I thought I had missed and it dropped stone dead right infront of her which gives to some idea of how fast these birds where going.

I THOUGHT I had hit two high pheasant as well and the same lady confirmed she had picked one and knew where the other had peeled out of the sky a field away.

Shared the day with some Americans who also made the trip succesful as we all stayed at the Sprouston Hotel & Golf Club so you can imagine the tales being told.

You shot at Woodbastwick then I take it. Is a nice big of ground and showed good birds last year, so much that I have got a local gang to shoot it again this year. I hope you have left plenty on the ground for us.
