Same place, different weather.

On my usual rounds I have never been able to get to this particular field before 10am. Pigeons always beat me to it so I never know where they are coming from. At least they are always there.

This morning was another early start. In position by 8.15 Pigeons came straight away from all directions but not in large numbers.

After an hour it was all over with 28 Pigeons in the bag.

The significance of the trees in the photo is that I can see them from my bed 1.8 miles away.

Well you did better than me today, just not seeing any numbers anywhere, one farmer commented that he had turned his gas-guns off as there were just no birds about, which is unusual for this farm as its a bit of a pigeon hot spot.

I wont mention how many miles I did looking for pigeons today but needles to say I never pulled the trigger, the most I seen on one rape field was about 40-50, all the other birds I seen were in smallish groups of 10-15 and feeding on acorns, no big numbers in the woods and no flight lines, even early morning, usually at this time of year I am starting to see some activity and some decent size flocks but so far nothing, so well done for shooting 28. :good:
