boo
Evening , just about finished this crook , horn is clear of cracks& splits , solid top , nose a little out ! Sanded, wet& dried, polished on the mop , fitted on dark hazel shank , on the whole fairly pleased with it ,all a learning curve....
Dave at kelton
I wouldn’t have been fairly pleased with that. I would have been delighted. Nice job well done!

Shambam1962
Well done boo, that’s an absolute cracker and my favourite type of crook. I’m still learning at the moment, making wooden crooks and different sticks and one day will try my hand at making a rams horn crook. Keep up the good work and thanks again for you help a few weeks back, it was very much appreciated.
Old Boggy
Amazing workmanship as usual Boo. That lovely dark hazel certainly sets it off. Many thanks for posting. OB
TIGHTCHOKE
Well if you keep this up you'll eventually get the hang of this stick making malarkey! Boo, it looks superb, a joy to hold and walk with.
boo
Cheers gents ,just really starting to get into rams horn as buffalo is hard to find & expensive these days , that took a week to bulk the horn , 2 days to bend & shape nose & 2 hrs to fit & finish, the shank took nearly a week to get the thing straight! Last one for awhile, away now for a month, cabelas & bass pro on the horizon!
wisdom
Did you boil the horn or heat gun it to get the shape?Lovely stick by the way I would be well proud of that.
boo
Once bulked , used a heat gun to bend on a jig , rams horn lot softer than buffalo, easily scorches , lot easier to bend...
