manthing
Can't stand the bloke, but I'll stand by him to protect the right to peaceful protest, which is the thrust of what he's saying. And let's be fair, anybody thats not realised we need to move away from fossil fuels is deluding themselves.
Scully
I’d probably be a bit more sympathetic if not supportive if they protested in the right places. It isn’t the general public going about their daily lives they should be disrupting, it is the lives of the politicians and legislators they should be disrupting. Only they can make a difference . They won’t do this of course because it requires work and effort. Let the general public get on with their lives.

But they go in for such infantile stunts that it's impossible to take them or their argument seriously. Is the World Snooker Championship really the place to make a sensible protest? Is Wimbledon? Lord's? Everyone just groans and then cheers security as they (and Jonny Bairstow) carry them off. They need the general public on side, but it's the general public they're constantly upsetting. Childish fools - I can see why Hamilton likes them now.

We won't be in a position to do that for decades, Solar and Wind are totally unreliable have no storage and are not suited to the UK climate or do you want us all to freeze and have no industry in the UK whilst the rest of the world just carry on as normal after a bit of lip service! Jesus and it is not peaceful protest it is disruption of people's every day lives and well being! Hamilton is supportive of their cause which makes him a total and utter Hypocrite given his occupation and use of private jets. No other country in the world is on the path to economic suicide for the nonsense of Nett Zero like we are, our Politicians are truly insane. I said I'd stand with him to protect the right to peaceful protest, and I'm well aware of what's allowed and what's not allowed under the terms of " peaceful protest" thanks. As for the current electric technology, it's well below the standard required to replace fossil fuels, but I didn't say we had to do it now, did I? We have to find better technology because the stuff in the ground isn't being replenished and so must run out at some point. I'd rather we had something in place before that happens. At the back end of last year a group of scientists, for a brief time, had a controlled fusion reaction running that produced more energy than it consumed to create the reaction. That's never happened before in any situation that I know of. This is where the future leads, but your right. It will take decades and our politicians (along with most politicians around the planet imho) are truly insane.

Sadly we will comply, tank our economy once again and the rest of emerging nations will ignore? Our contribution towards the global emissions virtually zero. Volcanoes never stop? Hey ho, we really are good peeps? Caring so much lining the pockets of a few?
