65mm Cartridge Recmmendation

Hi,

Looking for recommendations for a 12gauge cartridge, 2½" - 65mm, 36 - 40 gram load or higher. Need to test a shotgun to

aid cycling. Thanks.

There can’t be many 65 mm cartridges of 36 grams+!  34 is most I know of,like Eley Maximum! Even those are 67mm I think,but designed for 3 tons proof.

The only other such I can think of are Hull's buckshot loads. But you'll find they also have a roll turnover.

If your shotgun won't cycle with HV 32g loads, it needs a full strip down and a good cleaning........

ooof thats a request. only thing i can think of thats near is lylvale spureme game in 34g.  if the gun is only a 2.5 chamber and wont cycle anything  lighter than you request id saythat guns not working as intended.

out of intrest what is it?

I take it , it’s a semi ? Many semis don’t like 65mm

Forgotten Weapons has one in action.

 

As it is inertia action, heavier cartridges may not solve anything and may lead to reliability issues being worse.

 

It might even be worth trying lighter loads.....

l owned a .22 browning takedown it came apart in a similar way. It loaded in a hole the side of the wooden stock and ejected downward, it was very small. 
 Yes heavier cartridges shouldn’t be needed if there is a problem with the action it could make it worse. Good luck I hope you can sort it out.
