cervusman
I have a slug mould that is marked as a 5 bore which casts a slug measuring 23.77mm or .94”. I have read somewhere that it’s a 4 bore, but on another website a 4 bore slug is 26.72mm or 1.062”, can anybody tell me which is correct. Agriv8
Would think it also depends on what your choke is ? Agriv8 Edited November 15, 2023 by Agriv8

Agriv8 A bore size(diameter) is calculated by the number of balls of the said diameter it takes to make 1LB of lead and choke has nothing to do with it. Four bore would be exactly 1/4 pound of pure lead of density 11.34 grammes per cubic centimetre cast into a sphere would have a radius of 13.365 mm or 26.73 mm diameter Calculator (put in your own numbers) here https://www.omnicalculator.com/physics/sphere-density
TOPGUN749
A 5 bore would be .976”, so that’s probably what you have, with a slightly smaller slug.

cervusman
If you think that’s big, have a look at its big brother, it’s a one bore rifled slug.
